Church of the Santo Daime doctrine - Rio de Janeiro, RJ - Brazil

The Eclectic Center of the Universal Flowing Light is a spiritual work which aims at self-knowledge and the experience of God or the inner higher Self. For that we use, within a ritual context, the sacramental entheogenic beverage known as ayahuasca and re-baptized by Master Irineu as Santo Daime.

The use of entheogenic substances as a sacrament seems to
have been part of the main religion traditions of ancient times and gave the visionary basis for many of the most important religions that exist in the world today.

Our liturgical religion, which consists in the communion of the sacramental drink in appropriate dates, is called Eclectic because its roots are deeply impregnated by a strong syncretism among several cultural, folkloric and religious elements. The use of the Santo Daime sacrament is done in the dates of its festivities calendar, following the ritual rules set by both Mestre Irineu and Padrinho Sebastião.

A Spiritual Board directs the church and work for the tradition and of the principles maintenance, at the same time in which we try to adequate them to new contexts. The main festivities of the religious calendar are the Hinários, the Feitios and the Concentrations.

Hinários are twelve followed hours of canticles and dance, around a six pointed star, by the sound of several instruments and maracas.

Feitios are the sacrament confection festivities, when the whole community
mobilizes itself to make the Santo Daime tea.

Concentrations are sessions sat around the six pointed star, where we alternate
hours for the meditation and silent spiritual work and hours for the canticles
and other procedures of cure and prayer.

We are ready to receive brothers and sisters who seek for aid either in the spiritual development field as well as in the recovery and cure of physical diseases, psychic and spiritual, through the praise and of the faith in our lord Jesus Christ. We attain good results with people who wants to recover, and mostly in the combat of the chemical dependency, alcoholism and other vices.
